POSITION OVERVIEW: Category Manager: Indirect and Packaging

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this position is responsible for the procurement management of his/her assigned category, support of operational activities, continuous improvement and strategic procurement activities. This individual is a key member of Sika Canada's procurement team and is responsible for achieving agreed upon objectives.

  • Responsible for regional category performance to provide the lowest total cost for managed materials
  • Develop, implement and manage proactive strategic sourcing strategies for assigned categories and solicit bids.
  • Support Sika's Product Creation Process (PCP) for all aspects of the product lifecycle, especially new product introductions and supplier interactions to onboard new suppliers and materials
  • Coordinate with other departments to reduce non-value-added work related to the procurement-to-payment process
  • Responsible for the accuracy of information in SAP and other business systems

Your Skills and Experience

  • Cross-functional experience in purchasing and/or sales in a specialty chemicals company.
  • Education: B.S. / Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • PMAC title, SCMP, an asset
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Proven experience in cost reduction and TCO
  • Proven leadership and negotiation skills
  • Bilingual (French and English since the position requires more than 55% exchanges outside Quebec).
  • Technical experience in the field of construction is an asset
