About the Role

Consultants’ tasks can vary based on the IT threats specific to a client’s field as well as the terms of the contract. The job description of a cyber security consultant can include the following:

  • Identifying vulnerable systems and suggesting changes to fix weaknesses
  • Testing and evaluating systems, networks and digital assets for potential threats
  • Interviewing staff and managers about security measures
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining security policies to minimize vulnerabilities
  • Presenting test results to company leaders and management
  • Monitoring the latest news and threats in the security industry. 
  • Supervising other staff and overseeing changes to network security.
  • Educating staff on recognizing potential security risks and breaches. 

Your Skills and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in law enforcement, criminal science, computer science, security, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in security management or similar.
  • Excellent technical skills for building security architecture aligned with the business's requirements.
  • Strong computer coding and endpoint security skills.
  • Great communication skills and the ability to present technical jargon in an understandable way.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
