About the Role

You will be given the exciting opportunity to lead and further develop one of our core Industry in Japan. You will have full P&L responsibility and manage all business and organizational related aspects, in line with the corporate standards of Industry and according to local rules and regulations.  Furthermore, you will assure profitable growth based on given targets and execute all operational function within the industry in order to respond with agility to changing market environment. You will engage in sales, marketing and technical solution offering to manufacturers of Transportation (Buses, trucks, Railways), Marine, Automotive Aftermarket, Lamination, Appliances & Manufacturing, Electronics. 

  • Lead and develop Industry business in Japan, with responsibility to all of Industry P&L
  • Further develop and coach your sales team of 15+ members.  Coach, supervise and lead the members, with responsibility to recruit, develop and retain a strong team of passionate members who drive for growth
  • Achieve rapid sales growth and customer base expansion in the market, ensuring sales budgets are achieved and Sika brand is known in the market
  • Recognizes sales opportunities wherever possible, and closely monitor key customer accounts. Expand market share in all business fields
  • Builds and maintains strong key customer/ key account relationship and provides necessary on-site support, technical advice and services to customers
  • Work out strategies and implement business plans to further expand sales, profit and market share in all relevant market fields
  • You will be responsible for the Industry product portfolio and further introduce new products into the market
  • You are representing Industry interests in the Local Expert Team and assure time to market for new product developments and maintaining of existing products
  • In conjunction with marketing department, create and work out marketing materials like brochures, product/system datasheets and exhibition display
  • Share market situation and product demand with the Industry regional managers and related functions in Japan, such as R&D and Production.  Ensuring structured business development by evaluating current product range, introducing field testing and promoting new products to the ever-changing market environment.
  • Systematically review current product range to ensure all products and systems perform satisfactorily
  • Establish a structural pricing structure based on potential and differentiation towards competition
  • Ensure all the documentation, such as datasheets, directions for use, packaging and its labelling, etc., related to products are always updated
  • Provide business and market updates to Head of IND and global/regional Industry management on a regular basis
  • Take part in negotiations of major sales contracts
  • Keep regular contact with major customers in liaison with the sales department
  • Develop and maintain EHS policies and procedures; enforce EHS rules and regulations in compliance with the standards and legal/corporate requirements within the Industry area of business


 

Your Skills and Experience

  •  Bachelor or Master-degree in a technical or business field. Chemical, Material or Mechanical engineering is a plus
  • At least 6 years working experiences in sales- and marketing of application chemicals, electrical or other components or technical equipment to industrial users; experienced in providing technical solutions to customers
  • Experiences in Industry applications & OEM key accounts is a plus
  • Proven track record of successful people leadership
  • Good English skills required (business communication in speaking and writing)
  • Management experience of sales teams appreciated
  • Hands-on working style with strong communications skills
