Broad Function and Purpose of Position: Responsible for the prioritizing and planning of a production process to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing and achieve OLA and DIOH objectives. Create, update and maintain production schedules in accordance with product demand, material availability, and appropriate lead-time. Work is performed under the general direction of the Materials Manager.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Review and analyze material requirements generated by sales orders and MRP systems.
• Develop and manage production schedule to ensure timely production of goods.
• Generate purchase requisitions in accordance with material requirements.
• Establish stocking plans and appropriate levels for materials.
• Act as a liaison between manufacturing, quality control, purchasing and logistics to resolve discrepancies, determine priorities, and in general expedite the flow of materials based on production schedule requirements.
• Work closely with Production, Export, and Shipping Department to build favorable relationships with customers, and help resolve freight problems that may arise
• Evaluate, coordinate and make all material transfers where practical and feasible.
• Coordinate with purchasing and receiving on material shortages to ensure timely delivery to manufacturing.
• Maintain ongoing traceability for WIP and finished product, coordinating with manufacturing personnel to solve any material problems to ensure on-schedule production.
• Coordinate with logistics to establish and maintain inventory accuracy of raw materials, packaging, WIP and completed product.
• Achieve inventory accuracy goals, meet target service and cost objectives.
• Provide reports on inventory and service levels.
• Develop, track and provide monthly report on finished product forecast.
• Review trends and variations with manager.
• Perform other responsibilities and special projects as required by manager.
Qualifications/Experience:
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field preferred
• Years Experience: 3-5 years experience in a warehouse, distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Other: Operational knowledge of supply chain management with MRP experience.
Special Requirements:
• Must have working knowledge of PC systems and applications. DRP, MPS, MRP preferred.
• Must have working knowledge of inventory management in the capacity of planning and scheduling.
• Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
• Must have strong customer satisfaction focus.
• Must be able to participate in continuous improvement and problem solving teams.
